Shining a light on sustainability

Increased environmental awareness and demand for low emission, economical and sustainable equipment were key factors in a successful Showman’s Show for Morris Machinery.

Making its debut at the Show this year was the brand new SMC Genpac 10 which drew much attention with its low noise level 1500 rpm Kubota engine and easy access canopy. This new design fuel efficient dual voltage generator is now available from stock.

Showcasing its largest range of eco towers and new products on a green-themed stand, the business was recognised as a finalist in the show’s Green Supplier and Innovation Awards.

Interest was sparked with the SMC TL60 Solar Trolley, the SMC TL90 Evolve and the SMC SL60 Link light all making their show debut and underlining the appeal of super silent and energy efficient machines. The new SMC SL60 Link light appealed to show goers as an economical solution to event lighting with its simple to operate format and daisy chain capabilities.

The truly green SMC TL60 Solar also attracted much interest over the two days as it featured centre stage on the stand with its three solar panels easily deployed and its eco credentials. However, it was the unexpectedly extensive light output given its compact size which impressed customers on the stand.

The SMC TL90 Evolve features the all-important Stage V engine which is both fuel efficient and quiet meeting the needs of the events market.

The show also debuted the Hilta Hyperwash diesel pressure washer with its Stage V engine which particularly appealed to quad bike hirers and skip hirers. Its robust roll-cage and four large wheels makes it suitable for tough terrain and it can be stacked to allow 52 units in a 40ft container.

It was not just Morris Machinery’s equipment that attracted show goers. The grass sofa, eco-friendly sunglasses and selfie frame provided a bit of on stand entertainment. A sunshine blimp provided added standout.

Richard Denholm, UK Sales Director, said: “The positive engagement we enjoyed at this year’s show and the genuine interest in our products illustrated the growing importance of sustainability and efficient, economic solutions. Much discussion centred on solar innovation and we will take this on board. I am particularly pleased with this year’s show in terms of what we were able to bring to the customer and the fantastic response and leads generated.

“Our design team is continually innovating to help the sector to reduce the environmental impact of events. By refining our range and creating compact, eco-friendly machines we are supporting our customers in their eco ambitions.”
