ENVIRONMENT

We aim to conduct our operations in an environmentally sound manner, through continual improvement in the environmental performance of all our activities, work processes, products and services. We regularly review our processes to ensure that we operate efficiently and update our environmental and quality practices to continue to support our markets and deliver quality products, at the best price. We went on a journey to ensure that: Everybody within the company works to reduce waste and energy via innovative practices and product development, with visible savings being passed onto our customers and local communities. We strive to be eco-friendly through energy efficiency, waste control and recycling. We hold ISO14001 Environmental Management System, which manages impact on the environment in the production process and influences the type of products produced, and we continue to apply these principles to our operations.

To achieve this we:

  • Maintain an effective environmental management system
  • Comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations
  • Set objectives and targets to reduce our environmental impact
  • Ensure all employees are aware of this policy and their participation in its implementation
  • Respond quickly to incidents resulting from our operations, co-operate with industry organisations and authorised government agencies
  • Annually review our operations and measure progress to ensure compliance with this policy
  • Locally source goods and services wherever feasible and commercially viable, with many parts and suppliers in a 50 mile radius of our sites
  • Aim to reduce our environmental impacts associated with the use of transport

In the management of our premises and activities we seek to:

  • Reduce the consumption of energy and water
  • Minimise waste by an improved recycling programme and company-wide promotion of the waste hierarchy
  • Minimise the use of hazardous materials
  • Take all reasonable steps to prevent pollution

IN THE PROVISION OF OUR PRODUCTS WE AIM TO REDUCE THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF OUR MACHINES BY:

  • As a producer of industrial batteries under the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009, Morris Machinery Limited, produce Lead Acid batteries and have placed these on the market during this year and the preceding three years. We are obliged to take back free of charge, waste industrial batteries supplied to an end user for treatment and recycling. We are required to do this in any calendar year we place new industrial batteries on the market. If any of our customers or in certain cases other end users, require us to take back industrial batteries they should contact QHSE Officer, MORRIS MACHINERY LTD, UNIT 7F, CENTURION PARK, KENDAL ROAD, SHREWSBURY, SY1 4EH. 01902 790824. We will agree the necessary arrangements for the return, correct treatment and recycling of the waste industrial batteries.

QUALITY

Morris machinery are a leading British manufacturer and distributor of a range of world leading site machinery. Our Quality Policy is to create excellence through our products and services, whilst meeting all applicable requirements. The Quality Policy is appropriate to both our strategic direction and the context of our organisation.

The Quality system supports our mission statement:

We work to deliver world-leading products and service as committed, proactive people, placing the customer at the heart of everything we do. Our Senior Management are responsible for and committed to the Quality Policy, continually improving the Company’s Quality System and maintaining certification to ISO9001:2015. They ensure that there are adequate resources to develop, implement and continually improve the Quality Management System. Effective application of the Quality System will ensure our products and services are enhanced to achieve and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. It is the responsibility of the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team to ensure that the commitments of this Policy are incorporated into business activities.

Quality Objectives

The Company’s overarching Quality objective is to provide goods and services that meet our customers’ requirements. The Quality Policy supports our strategic business objectives and provides a framework for setting Quality Objectives. Quality objectives aim to minimise potential risks to the business and reduce instances of non-conformance. The Quality objectives are monitored via management reporting and then communicated to the wider team as appropriate.

Quality Communication

Quality is everyone’s responsibility. Managers communicate Quality procedures and their objectives to employees at regular intervals. All staff have access to the Quality documentation via the QHSE Officer. Communication to employees is carried out during normal day to day allocation of work requirements, specific customer order instructions, whether documented or communicated verbally. The Quality Policy is available to relevant interested parties of Morris Machinery, as appropriate.
